A Thanks goes to "The Happy Hippy" for giving a name to this robot. But don't worry if your name did not get chosen for this robot you will have a chance to name other robots that I build in the future just keep checking out this site for the latest news.

Gonzo is fitted with two 2.4V cordless screw driver motors and a single speed controller controlling both the motors, to achieve steering one motor gets the power to it cut while the other remains at full power. This is done by a servo pushing against two micro switches which are set to be on all the time and to go off when the leaver gets pushed in. This is not a great way of achieving steering but it's cheap and takes little time to set up.

Total cost of this robot is around 70

Radio control set = 50 (but I already had it)
Speed controller = 10 (self built, price is excluding my time)
Screw driver motors = 3.99 each
Plus bits and bobs that were laying around my work shop
