Servo-Rover V1.0

Designed on a Saturday afternoon Servo-Rover is intended to be a simple to use and cheap introduction to programmable robotics with the possibilities of future upgrades for the advanced users.
The main features of this robot are:

Tank style steering via the use of 2 modified servos.
Onboard IR obstacle detectors.
Onboard sounder
Onboard light measurer via the use of an LDR
Simple to build
Onboard RS232 port
PDIP socket for PIC16F628 or compatible
Oh and most importantly it’s got 2 blue high power LEDs (makes it run faster don’t you know!!)

I have currently made up a few test routines for this robot which is enough to control it via a PCs serial port, and it also has a roaming feature were it will explore its surroundings and avoid any objects in front of it with its IR sensors.

Additionally I also had in mind a cheap simple MicroMouse platform, so I have designed this to be compatible with MicroMouse mazes. Hence it has a small form factor of under 130 x 110 mm and the IR sensors are arranged pointing left, right and forward, making ideal for a simple MicroMouse platform.
